Fencing that fits how farms actually work
A farm fence has a different job from a factory fence. It has to be affordable over long distances, strong enough to stop animals, and flexible enough for tractors, bullock carts, water channels and pump sheds. We plan around those realities before we choose the material.

Choosing the right farm fence
Barbed wire on RCC posts
Lowest cost for large areas. Good against stray cattle and casual entry. See barbed wire fencing.
Chain link on RCC posts
Best protection against goats, dogs, wild boar and theft. Costs more per foot. See chain link fencing.
Wire mesh fencing
Rigid mesh panels for livestock and crop protection, useful where a clean line is needed along roads.
Combination fence
Chain link on the road side and barbed wire on the inner boundaries. A good balance of cost and protection.
How much fencing do I need?
Land in Tamil Nadu is usually described in acres and cents. A rough idea of the fence length helps you budget before we visit.
| 1 cent | About 435.6 sq ft. A square cent has a perimeter of about 84 ft. |
|---|---|
| 10 cents | A square plot has a perimeter of about 264 ft. |
| 1 acre (100 cents) | A square acre has a perimeter of about 835 ft (254 m). |
| 5 acres | A square 5-acre block has a perimeter of about 1,870 ft (570 m). |
Actual plots are rarely square, and narrow or irregular shapes need more fencing for the same area. Send us the survey details or a pin on WhatsApp and we will calculate the length properly.
What we plan with you
- Gate positions wide enough for your tractor, trolley or truck
- Gaps for water channels and drains, closed so animals cannot slip through
- Extra bracing at corners and on slopes
- Post height and wire spacing matched to the animals you are keeping out
- Phased installation if you want to fence in stages
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest way to fence an acre of farmland?
Barbed wire on RCC posts is usually the lowest-cost permanent option. Chain link costs more but protects better against smaller animals and theft. We can price both so you can compare.
Will the fence stop wild boar?
A well-built chain link fence with a closed bottom edge and strong posts stops most wild boar. Barbed wire alone may not. For areas with heavy wildlife pressure, tell us when you enquire and we will recommend a stronger design.
Can you fence land that is far from a main road?
Yes. We work across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Remote sites may add transport cost for posts and materials. We include that in your quote.
Do you fence in stages?
Yes. Many farmers start with the road side and complete the rest later. We plan the posts so later sections join cleanly.
